Seeing the negative space in your art will bring you positive results!

Layering more complex shapes can be challenging but once you understand how to layer simple shapes you are ready to grow your negative painting skills. We will paint a variety of images which will challenge your ability to see the negative space within your artwork. We will first create colorful textured washes to start our paintings. Next we will glaze each layer using an array of tonal values. You will see a transformation in your art as you create deep depth using extreme darks.
